Cordier Auctions December Firearms Auction to Feature Antique Colts

The firearm belonged to Governor Charles L. Robinson, who rose to become the first governor of Kansas in 1861, but also became the first and only governor in that state’s history to be impeached. The historic handgun is just one among many that will be sold in Cordier’s Winter Firearms Auction on Sunday, December 4 in Harrisburg, PA.

Among the other antique handguns, collectors will find another engraved Colt, this a First Generation SA Revolver in .45 Long Colt with a factory letter as to its authenticity ($4,000 - $5,000). Military handguns will also cross the block, including a striking Walther “Z” marked Kampfpistole grenade launcher ($1,000 - $1,200), as well as a Remington Rand 1911A1 pistol in .45 auto ($1,000 - $1,500).

Fine antique and military long guns, including an antique English Blunderbuss ($600-$900), a Spencer repeating rifle in .52 caliber ($1,200 - $1,800), and a Sharps M1859 Military Rifle in .52 caliber ($1,500 - $2,000), are also sure to draw attention from bidders. Military long guns will feature a Springfield Armory M-1 Garand ($800 - $1,000) and a Winchester M-1 Carbine ($800 - $1,000).

Military collectors will find items from the 18th Century and the Civil War, as well as American, German, and Japanese items. Highlights will include the Home Service helmet of British Colonel Hugh Fortescue Coleridge, 1st Loyal North Lancashire Regiment ($800 - $1,200). Edged weapons will also be offered, among which a Japanese WWII era Samurai sword with a signed tang is a stand out lot ($800 - $1,000).

Bidders will also be able to compete on a full range of modern hand and long guns, which will feature a Colt Anaconda revolver in .44 Magnum ($1,200 - $1,800) and a Winchester Model 71 Deluxe rifle ($1,000 - $1,500). A beautifully engraved Francotte Belgian Classic Double SxS shotgun ($800 - $1,200) will also cross the block.

Deaccession items from the Pennsylvania State Police Museum in Hershey, PA, will also be featured in this auction and include seized roulette wheels and slot machines, uniforms, and a four foot tall educational Trooper Robot.
